Objectives

This two-day course specific to the Aerospace Sector is designed to provide participants with an understanding of
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and how to implement APQP as part of the New Product Development
process. You will also learn about the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), which includes where and when to
incorporate prevention tools and methodologies such as DFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, SPC, PFMEA, and Control
Plans.

Who the course is for

  • Senior Managers and Management Representatives
  • Internal Auditors, Implementation Teams and others involved in the auditing or implementation of Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) activities including AS9102 First Article, AS13004 PFMEA and Control Plans, AS13003 MSA and ongoing process control and process improvement.

Course Contents

  • An understanding of APQP and PPAP requirements
  • The purpose and applicability of APQP and PPAP and their importance within the aerospace sector
  • The requirements for a successful introduction of new products
  • An understanding of the terms and definitions used within AS9145
  • The makeup of a multidiscipline project team
  • An understanding of the 5 phases of APQP, including the specific inputs and outputs related to each phase
  • Awareness of the development of control plans for different applications/scenarios as defined within AS9145
  • Identify PPAP file and submission requirements including customer-specifics
  • Identify the key linkages between AS9100 requirements and AS9145, AS9102, and AS9103
  • Attendees will become competent in implementing and auditing APQP and also develop an understanding of the links to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes Effects  Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP).
