On successfully completing the course, students will be have:
- An appreciation of the importance of controlling Health and Safety in all types of business.
- A knowledge of Health and Safety management systems including the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 standard
- A knowledge of documented management systems to control occupational Health and Safety at workplace.
- A knowledge of risk assessment for Health and Safety and other risks to the organization related to OHSMS.
- A knowledge of auditing principles
- A detailed understanding of the principal requirements for auditing OHSMS.
The course uses a mixture of taught sessions, interactive group discussions, exercises and continuous assessment to achieve its aims. The practical exercises are based upon a fictional company. However, the procedures, work instructions and data are typical and could relate to many different enterprises equally. The practical exercises have been carefully designed to focus upon issues that commonly arise during Health and Safety audits.
